Dr. Seth C. Kadish

I just wanted to write you to let you know how much my students liked you.  I got feedback the following week and they just loved you.  You are a great presenter!

Pepperdine University

From the moment the event began, it was clear that Dr. Kadish was someone who was comfortable with talking in front of large groups and skillful at engaging an audience.  His anecdotal, question-and-answer format was truly a successful technique and one could tell that he held the audience’s interest.

Your presentation on Forensic Psychology was outstanding, just what our students were looking for. It was excellent, clear and informative and really helped them broaden their knowledge and understand the issues related to this field.

Psychologist, Corporate Speaker, and Author

Welcome to my site.

I’m Dr. Seth C. Kadish, licensed psychologist and expert in the field of Patterns work.  I’m also the author of  “Pop Your Patterns,” a look at the negative patterns of thought, emotion and behavior that run our lives and impede our inner and outer growth and gains.

I enjoy public speaking and have spoken to audiences in the U.S. and Canada on my Patterns work.  I have appeared at numerous conferences (CAADE, U.S. Journal Counseling Skills and Brief Therapy, among others) and addressed many organizations, groups and schools, both in-person and via Zoom such as UCLA, Pepperdine, Kaiser Permanente and Cottage Hospital.

I’ve also had the privilege and pleasure of being spotlit in the media, most notably the Oprah Winfrey Network documentary series, “Ryan and Tatum: The O’Neals (2011)”, and the award-winning documentary, “Iceberg Slim: Portrait of a Pimp (2013)”. I’ve been interviewed on television, radio and podcasts over the years and it’s been great fun. I’ve put a few of those videos on the website too.

As to my clinical work, I’m currently Director of Group Therapy at PCH (Psychological Care & Healing), a highly-regarded psychology program in Mar Vista, California. I’ve been there over 13 years to date. In addition to running a team of elite group therapists, I keep my hand in with several groups a week. It’s a true joy and pleasure for me.

I’m the former Clinical Director of Milestones Ranch Malibu and was a Staff Psychologist at California State Prison, Los Angeles County, counseling maximum-security inmates. This was an incredible experience, working with adult men, many of whom were serving lengthy sentences for murder, armed robbery, arson, and more. I learned many lessons during that time that were useful and helpful to me in the years that followed.

I cut my teeth working with Probation youth in the San Fernando Valley including a stint at Penny Lane in North Hills, CA counseling adolescent females, where I was named Clinician of the Year 2001. It was a tremendous surprise and honor. My memoir, “Home Boys,” was based around these early career experiences. You can find a link to it on my Books page. (It’s gotten some amazing reviews on Amazon.)

On a personal note, my wife and I became residents of south Florida last year. We’ve been enjoying the lifestyle of beach, exercise, dining out, and long walks – and no, we don’t find it too hot at all, not after decades in Southern California!

A last note: I love hearing from readers and make a point of responding promptly to all queries and comments, so feel free to reach out to me. I promise you a response in return.

Thanks so much for checking out my website.
